All participating players and coaches must be registered with USA Hockey (or Canadian equivalent) for the current season.
The FGHL and INGHF support the USA Hockey zero tolerance initiatives for verbal abuse of any player, official, parent, or spectator. The league staff reserves the right to remove any violator from the premises.
Per USA Hockey policy, cell phones and other mobile devices with recording capabilities, including voice recording, still cameras, and video cameras, are not permitted to be used in the locker rooms. If phones or other mobile devices must be used, they should be taken outside of the locker room.
No player or bench coach/staff will be allowed on the ice or bench without first submitting the FGHL electronic waiver. A link to this waiver can be found at www.fghl.org
All game play will be governed by USA Hockey rules. It is the responsibility of each player, coach, and team manager to be familiar with these rules.
Game Length:
There will be a 3-minute warm-up period prior to game start.
16U division games will consist of three 20-minute stop-time periods.
14U division games will consist of three 17-minute stop-time periods.
12U division games will consist of three 14-minute stop-time periods.
Second Intermission Ice Cut.
14U and 16U division games will have an additional ice cut during the 2nd intermission. Teams will retire to their locker rooms during this time.
There will be no additional ice cut for the 12U division.
There will be no warm-ups after the ice cut.
For 12U and 14U games, minor penalties will be assessed at 1.5 minutes. All other USA Hockey penalty durations will remain the same.
For 16U games, minor penalties will remain at 2 minutes.
Match Penalties will be reviewed by the League directors and a determination will be made whether or not to allow the player to continue to participate in the league.
Overtime & Shootouts.
Regular season league games can end in a tie. There will be no overtime or shootout during regular season league play.
During the Championship weekend, any game that ends regulation in a tie will go to a 5-minute sudden-death overtime period. If still tied after the overtime period, a shootout will be used to determine the winner.
There will be no Gretzky rule in effect limiting the number of goals an individual player can score in a game.
There will be no timeouts during game play.
There will be no appeals to officials calls on the ice.
Game scores and finals shall not be subject to appeal or discussion.
Players may be rostered on multiple teams as needed for the league but must have played at least 6 games during the season to play on that team for the championship weekend.
In the case that games are running excessively late, as determined by league staff, the final period will be played, in whole or part, with a running clock.
Teams must be ready to start their game up to 15 minutes early.
